Press ReleaseIrish Dance Idaho is deeply committed to the difficult, athletic, and technical art and finesse of traditional and show-style Irish Step Dance. Rebecca Ingram CCID spends long, challenging hours teaching, along with her sister and brother. They have 22 years combined experience practicing, performing, and teaching Irish step. Irish Dance Idaho has the distinction of being recognized by the largest Irish Dance organization in the world - the Association of American Irish Dance Teachers. IDI is the only school to be so recognized in the Northwestern States. The pinnacle of Irish Dance for the Ingrams is performance, yet they also participate in feisanna in limited doses. They believe light competition helps to keep dancer's technique and skills sharp, but prefer, bringing joy and enjoyment to others through performance rather than a strong competition focus. Students experience quality traditional and show-style instruction weekly with many performances at events year around. The biggest achievement, showing both strength and stamina occurs around St. Patrick's Day where the dancers and parents run from one performance to another in a marathon make-shift dance festival! We love to see the faces of the Seniors, clapping to the rhythms of the peppy Irish dance tunes, then to hear their memories of years gone by in Ireland. |
