The pinnacle of Irish Dance at IDI is serving in the community

Studies show that dancing can enhance other areas of the dancer's lives, including school-work.  Class participation, practice, and striving to reach individual and class goals can increase a dancers self-worth, help with balance, rhythm, coordination, muscle control, and even help them to focus and remember better in other areas of their lives.

IRISH DANCE IDAHO opened its doors in the Treasure Valley in 2005 with Director, Rebecca Ingram, and her sister Heidi and brother Spencer. Their mission?  To share their love of Irish Step and perform a little here and there.

WOW!  Things exploded in a great way and the IDI Dancers were in heavy demand.  With performances throughout the northwest and nearly every weekend, the challenge became to limit the amount of performances to let the dancers breathe and to work on perfecting their dances in class BEFORE a performance!  It was a difficult balance to achieve.  But the IDI dancers are amazing people that do amazing things!

Now 13 years later, with so many treasured memories behind them - IRISH DANCE IDAHO continues with its mission:  To take a challenging and beautiful art form, create a healthy learning atmosphere, make learning and performing affordable for our families, and enjoy working hard to reach a level of mastery with traditional, modern, individual, ceili dancing, and Soft and Hard shoe which are drilled heavily each week.

It's HARD WORK!  But the IDI dancers are up to the task.

The dancers and families at Irish Dance Idaho are always looking for opportunities to give back to the community.  Don't be surprised if you not only see them serving through dancing, but also as volunteers in venues throughout the Treasure Valley, teachers, medical personnel, professionals serving well in their chosen fields, as students, and at home.

Wherever they go, they make the world a  better place!

NO WIGS REQUIRED!

In fact, in keeping with Irish tradition, wigs are discouraged at IDI -(besides the fact that they are hot, expensive, and itchy!)

WE DO NOT REQUIRE OUR PARENTS OR DANCERS TO DO ANY TYPE OF FUND-RAISING OR TO BE INVOLVED IN RUNNING THE SCHOOL IN ANY WAY.

At IDI, we value each dancer and strive for excellence

We strive for a healthy, friendly class atmosphere, but also expect a lot out of our dancers.  The dancer learns more discipline as he/she progresses through classes and especially when they commit to our technique/class/performance combination.

Performers learn to tune into each other while working on their own individual strengths and weaknesses.  At IDI, we strive for a team mentality where the dancers learn to watch out for each other - not just at IDI, but wherever they go.
