Irish step can be such a great experience! Team participation, practice, and striving to reach individual and team goals can increase a dancer’s self-worth and help them with their balance, rhythm, and even help them to focus and remember better. There will be opportunities to meet other people, to learn traditional dancing, carefully preserved from a different culture, combined with modern Riverdance style. Student's ages range from 4 to Adult. The Dancers work hard, and it shows!|
Tuesday

Costumes
The boys' costume is a black shirt and black slacks. They also wear black socks, or we rebuke them severely. You also won’t see us with the bouncy, curly hair. We espouse the philosophy held by many in the Irish Dance community summed up in this fine article:
“Oddly enough, though it’s often claimed that curled hair is traditional, photographic evidence shows that dancers often preferred their everyday hairstyles that were popular at the time. One explanation for the popularity of the "big hair" is that it balances out the heavily stiffened dresses, which were another 1980s fashion innovation, but most realistically this is a 21st-century reasoning. The 1980s just loved big hair.”

Shoes
Corrs has wonderful boys' and girls' shoes. For quality, their prices are the best. Another great site for boys' and girls' shoes is Rutherfords. Hard shoes
You can find hard shoes at the same sites as the soft shoes. A few words of warning:
- Don't buy super-flexis until advised by your teachers
- Careful with sizing
- Hard shoes will feel really weird when you get them - THIS IS NORMAL.
If by some rotten luck your feet grow just as you have ordered new shoes, remember that you can post a note in the Irish Dance Idaho studio, or you can sell them on Ebay.
