Teachers

The IDI teachers, Rebecca CCID, Heidi, and Spencer Ingram, have studied extensively with certified Irish Step schools in the Boise valley. IDI was founded by the Ingram family in February, 2005 as a way to share their talents in a fun, challenging, and healthy atmosphere.
For the past 8 years, Rebecca, Heidi, and Spencer have participated in over 500 performances throughout the Northwest, including dancing with Irish bands as they tour through Boise, community recitals at the BSU Special Events Center, fund-raisers at the Nampa Civic Center, Emmett Cherry Festival, Eagle Fun Days, Festival of Trees each Christmas, private and public performances for the Irish Consulate General, a recital at the Pacific University in Tacoma, WA, and performances at schools, rest homes, and numerous private parties from Boise to Melba to John Day, OR. They have competed in eight competitions, receiving numerous medals and trophies and have achieved the difficult levels of Prizewinner and Preliminary Championship. They have been taught by some of the best certified dance teachers in the industry as well as World Champions and the leads of the popular shows Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.
Now, in combination with some wonderful dancers new to Irish step, and dancers that have participated with the Ingrams in previous performances, the IDI dancers are performing throughout the valley and beyond, sharing their talents, and spreading a little Irish culture – as it is meant to be shared.

AAIDT

AAIDT seeks to establish a cooperative community of Irish dance teachers and dancers, and provide valuable resources for those involved.
AAIDT believes that competition is important – in moderation – to challenge students and measure progress, but should never be the primary focus of dancing.
We believe that dance should be a positive social activity. Therefore, we strive to foster a community of sharing and mutual support among dancers and teachers.

Studio

At long last, our studio is complete! Come see us at 1909 Wildwood in Boise!
An Irish Dance floor has it’s own specific challenges. To accomodate both hard and soft shoes, and the tremendous impact to the body, our floor is state of the art, absorbing at least 80% of the dancers shock during impact - (data available from independent testing). Protecting the dancer’s joints is of the utmost importance to us as they work so hard to develop crossing, turn out, leaps, jumps, rocks, pointe work, etc.
  • Featuring a Comfortable Parents’ waiting room
  • Heating/Air conditioning
  • Drinking Fountain with water bottle spout
This was quite a journey to finish this amazing studio! So many wonderful people helped and supported us as we worked on it, thanks so much to them!
